NEH Summer Fellows Program

The purpose of the NEH Summer Intern Program is to acquaint promising college students in the humanities with the policies, programs, and operations of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Under the guidance of the agency’s professional staff, interns participated in the work of the Endowment for eleven weeks during the summer of 2001. Each intern was assigned to one program division or office of the agency to assist in daily work and to undertake a special project. Summer interns also had opportunities to learn about the work of similar federal agencies and cultural institutions. Each intern received a $4,000 grant.
