10th Anniversary of Preservation and Assistance Grants
Preservation and Access
The Path to Preservation
The Preservation Assistance Grants program, currently celebrating its 10th year, has made over 1,300 awards totaling more than $6 million to put smaller institutions on the right path toward preservation of their humanities collections. We consider support for smaller institutions to be essential to our mission to preserve and provide access to cultural heritage in public collections. The PAG program has provided direct assistance to a broader range of institutions than has been possible in any other NEH grant program.
Program History

The Division of Preservation and Access launched the Preservation Assistance Grants (PAG) program in 2000 to enhance the capacity of smaller and mid-sized institutions to preserve their humanities collections and to reach out to libraries, archives, museums, and historical organizations.
