Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan
In collaboration with the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission (www.jusfc.gov/index.asp), NEH supports fellowships for six to twelve months for scholars conducting advanced social science research on modern Japanese society, Japan’s international relations, and U.S.-Japan relations.

Professor John Creighton Campbell, a University of Michigan political scientist, received a 2005 fellowship to conduct research in Japan for a book on Japan’s cultural and political responses to aging.
